Flathead Lake covers 125,250 surface acres, has 128 miles of shoreline, and has a maximum depth of 386 feet. The largest natural freshwater lake in the western United States, it is approximately 28 miles long, 15 miles wide, and has an average depth of 165 feet. Water drains into the lake from an area of 7,086 square miles.
